Mark Power...

Mark Power's photography of the redevelopment of kings cross station i believe exemplifies his work. His photography, esecially in this project, captures the the subject as it would be seen but still give you the impression of what its like to be in that space, he creates a narrative or a journey through the spaces, often capturing similar objects with completely different feels. For instance the staircases in this series both are metal staircases in a similar corner of a similar building but the way he has framed them create completely different feelings about that space where the spiral staircase looks decrepid, dark and not well maintained, where as the other staircase is framed in light making them look like you want to ascend them.
This is much the same as the Chernobyl images shown previously but he does this not just with buildings but with landscapes and people aswell.
It is this repetition of ideas with similar objects coupled with quite simplistic compositions that make his concepts very clear.
